Letters of various Confederate soldiers discuss procurement of a rifle, sickness and hardships in camp, private finances, the death in a skirmish of Colonel James W. Spaulding, cotton and tobacco transactions and the necessity of burning cotton to prevent its seizure by Union soldiers. With these are a newsclipping of a poem and a hand colored comic [valentine?].
